Nestled along Galt Ocean Drive just east of A1A, Barrett's Sly Fox isn't easy to find. But if you happen to drive by, the Irish pub is hard to miss. A large, green imposing building that stands alone, behind the strip malls on Ocean Drive, Barrett's first opened in 1970 as Danny's Sly Fox. It changed owners and then its name but continued to cater to the same locals who populate condo row on Galt Ocean Mile. Its décor offers the standard knickknacks and warm wood finish that make Ireland feel like home no matter where in the world you are. TVs continuously broadcast sports, and lots of seating is available, from the bar that runs along the back wall to all the booths inside and out. A stage takes up a small space on the left, perfect for any singer/songwriter. The only drawback: no pool table or darts. But that's the price you pay for comfortable sitting areas.
