While news of yet another wine bar may not excite, this one distinguishes itself by offering about 40 Italian wines by the glass. So you can try that Barolo without breaking the bank on a bottle. The menu offers a wide range of appetizers and antipasti, nice for sharing, as well as hearty pastas and a few entrées. Anything fried is spectacular-calamari, shrimp, and shredded zucchini come in a tangle, fried so skillfully that they are totally dry and greaseless, with a cornmeal-batter crunch. Pappardelle with oxtail ragu is meaty and satisfying; braised baby octopus is tender and tentacled.
