Description

The Bannock Street Garage didn't pull its name out of thin air: For years, it was a Volkswagen repair shop. That is, until 2004, when it was refit as a bar as divey as anything you'd care to find in the metro area. Its garage roots are still evident by the massive door at the front, the cement floors and the large, open patio in the back. The place tends to attract crowds in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties, with celebrations ranging from First Fridays showcasing art to open-mike nights once a month for performers. And if that isn't enough to entertain you, there are plenty of traditional bar games as well, including pool and darts.

Awesome spot on Bannock St.! They have the best frozen pizza. You can't buy this stuff in the bars.

I love what Eddie (the owner) is doing with the Garage with all the unique events and the occasional live music. From a pinewood derby race to arm wrestling competitions and eating contests, Eddie is keeping the Garage as an entertainment destination in Denver. Wonder what they'll do next.
