Description

A small plates lounge with a Cantonese bent, Bako serves a lovely eight-treasure rice and barbecued pork belly. But getting either dish on the table takes patience, since service here is typically hopelessly confused. Many of the kitchen's other concoctions are greasy and brown, in the manner of lesser take-out, so it's best to stick with cocktails when ensconced in this drop-dead gorgeous space. The drinks, heavy on whiskey and fresh citrus, draw their names from "In the Mood for Love," the Hong Kong hit that also inspired the restaurant's sultry modern decor.
