This Thai restaurant has been a legend since the late 1980s, when a former flight attendant started feeding her ex-coworkers at Thai Airways, then opened up her catering business to the public. After two decades and a move to more elegant digs in a Southcenter strip mall, Bai Tong still puts out some of the cleanest, most aromatic Thai food in the area. Its red curry exists in more dimensions than most. The combination of lime, onion, chile, and beef in the nuea num tok (beef salad) is set to stun. And the springy fish cakes studded with lemongrass and herbs? Mythic.
