This vestige of the theater district once known as the Jewish Broadway is also one of the few kosher dairy restaurants remaining in town. Their dreamy soups--mushroom barley, borscht, cabbage, and vegetable, in descending order of preference--come with two thick slices of buttered challah bread made on the premises.
