Description

Why do so few South-of-the-Border spots serve tortas? Those saucy sandwiches seem to exist only in the itty-bitty kitchens of your typical taco truck. Then, there's Aventura. This Greenwood neighborhood spot dishes out the usual enchilada, burrito, chili relleno mix of Americanized Mexican. But dig a little deeper on the extensive menu and you'll find the torta selection. The standouts among these baked sandwiches include the chorizo and the asada. The quesadillas here are also a refreshing departure from the same-old, same-old. They're made with masa instead of stuffing a bunch of random stuff in a flour tortilla.

You know I have to say, I finally stopped in at this little hole in the wall Mexican Restaurant because I live within walking distance and get their little homemade postings on my door sometimes...It was REALLY good! Basic, minimal furnishings, and great attentive staff! Enjoy some rather authentic Mexican food for decent prices....Let me know when you're going and I'll join you!! ; ))

Mmmm ... Being from Texas, we find most local Mexican food fairly disappointing, but this place was great. The salsa was perfect, and, if I closed my eyes, I could almost pretend I was in San Antonio, eating enchiladas at my favorite hole in the wall. The prices are good as well. The location is a little out of the way - but well worth it (it's a new restaurant near the corner of Greenwood and 15th Ave). We'll definitely go back to try more from both menus (one with standard Mexican restaurant fare, one with traditional & speciality dishes). If you're from the SW, this place won't disappoint you. I highly recommend it.
