Description

While the basic idea of combining food and a film is a good one, the Movie Tavern -- part of a multi-unit, meals-and-movies chain out of Texas -- is the McDonald's, Olive Garden and T.G.I. Friday's of the industry all rolled into one. That's fine if your idea of a great flick is Independence Day -- but if you prefer Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a movie that's more thoughtful, certainly quieter and ends with a ray of hope for the future, then this may not be the place for you. Or the kitchen for you, since it caters to completely mainstream tastes. Then again, even boring pizza is better than stale popcorn.

  • 2008 | Best Movie Theater -- Drink

Movie theaters that offer food and drink service are becoming almost commonplace. But that's food and drink service in the lobby. There's the Blue Thing, the signature margarita, or the Big Blue Thing for 2 --... More »
