To all law enforcement officers..... beware of shooting at a moving vehicle however if your cornered and up against who lives or who dies, then shoot and I hope your police agency backs you up even after the DA clears the shooting. The APD Chief Oates is going to be gutless because he has not advised the officer in the March 20, 2011, shooting that killed the driver in a stolen truck and the guy behind the driver was hit but survived but has not told the officer his fate with the department and he not liked by the Chief for personal reasons which should not be a factor when the officer has a clean record and 17 years on the department with a B.A. degree for his life long dream to be a cop. The officer of APD was put on leave without pay for not being remorseful by making a comment of the surviving victim and another for being at the City Building with his grandson when it was closed. So, now the Chief Oates could fire him with just these two cases, and he can but then if he does then the Chief will not have to deal with the shooting situation because the officer already will be fired, see my point. The media and the officer's family has been on the news and the media with the public want to know why the DA cleared him and still the Chief is showing his corrupted side even though his policy does not supercede the State Law's. This would be a gutless way to get out of this so he is not in the eye of the media, public with firing an officer for shooting at a moving vehicle but all I hope is that the officer has a great attorney to tear this whole case into justice for that officer, and of a Chief's actions showing it and win big money for this whole mess when they should have just put him back on the streets when the DA cleared him for doing his job and saving his life, and his partners life who was injuried that night of that stolen truck. The City Attorney Richardson and the Mayor are going to have to deal with the Chiefs actions and someday the Chief is going to be out-of-control and will become careless and open the doors to many law suits, harassment, and even now the Chief under oath had lied in a court in a hearing on another officer who lost his job but got it back, Chief is a dirty man and very corrupted and he will get caught and your tax dollars out the window! Why did City Attorney closed two libraries and City employees facing furloughs and then he gives away 390K to criminals in a stolen truck that were thieves for years and had criminal records....why? Don't be a COP unless you like kissing a whole lot of A**!
