Description

In 1931, Aston's English Bakery was co-founded by Bill Aston in Fort Worth. In 1934, the bakery moved to Dallas. It continues to be a family venture, though with a shorter name. Aston's granddaughter, Mary Aston-Miller, is now in charge. Her operation oversees the from-scratch production of myriad baked goods. These include advance-notice-required cakes, dinosaur cookies, sausage rolls and dipped strawberries. The petit fours are especially popular with the Park Cities crowd. However, people come from all over for the cheese bread and danishes. There's just something about being family run that makes a bakery if not better in quality, better in sales. People still love a mom-and-pop shop.
