Description

The Asqew chain specializes in skewers of meat, veggies, and seafood accented with multiethnic sides and salsas. The hot kebabs are napped in beurre blanc or barbecue sauce (Thai or Texas) and served with your choice of couscous, coconut rice, garlicky potatoes, or grilled polenta: a quick, tasty, and inexpensive feast healthier than the stuff from other fast-food chains. The Haight location is very Hashbury, with rustic wooden beams, myriad knickknacks, and Southwestern terra cotta.

This place has become one of my favorite hangouts. The staff are friendly and the food is great! Come during happy hour (3-6)and get a glass of Cabarnet Chavignon for $3. Along with the wine I also ordered their homestyle mac & cheese and buffalo wings...delicious!The best part is that I only paid about $13 for the whole meal. This place is definitely worth checking out!
