Right across from Lucky’s Pub and Warehouse Live sits Cork Soakers, one of the best-named wine bars in Houston. Yes, the name is a Johnny Dangerously reference, and if you don’t believe us just Google it. (Better yet, Netflix the 1984 movie) Soakers serves up wine in an area that sadly lacking in the vino department; with all the new development going up around EaDo, it seems like someone would have already pulled the trigger on a wine bar for the loft-dwellers. Inside, Soakers is large and lodgy, done mostly in large wood pieces from the doors to the tables. The wine list is growing by the week, so be sure to stop by to see what they’ve added. The night we went, the bar was dotted with quiet folk on dates and cougars juicing up to prowl. So don’t be a farging icehole and give Cork Soakers a try.
