This Catalina Island hotspot has a little bit of something for everyone. Situated right over the water in Avalon Bay, Antonio's has an excellent view of the ocean and the nearby Avalon Casino Ballroom. The back patio has outdoor seating for those who want to get even closer to the harbor, while the large, roomy interior is an unpretentious hodgepodge of vintage signs, taxidermy specimens, kitschy paintings and neon logos, with the floor covered in a virtual carpet of peanut shells. The family-friendly restaurant serves up a satisfying mix of Italian pastas and pizzas, while the Buffalo Breath Bar is a full bar with wine, champagne and the house beer, Paulaner from Munich. The dining area also features the Steamer Room, a private dining room for up to a dozen people. The bar's stage, ringed with a row of old gumball machines, hosts karaoke and cabaret performers. Antonio's Pizzeria & the Catalina Cabaret is the larger of the two Antonio's locations on Avalon; the original location on Sumner Avenue was once one of Natalie Wood's favorite island hangouts.
