Antone"s Import Co. was the first of a wave of import/deli/grocers to spring up in the Houston area. The location on Kirby is one of the few left that still maintain the same feel as the original, selling grocery items and import goods. Just the smell of the spices alone sets this place apart from more standard groceries. Be sure to try the Mediterranean dishes or one of the locally famous po-boy sandwiches with their specialty orange "chow-chow" relish.
