Description

The Hudson River might not be the canals of Venice, but don't tell that to the couples watching the sunset as they eat chef Franklin Patrice's Venetian cuisine. The dining room was pretty much designed with dates in mind, with landscapes of Venice hanging on exposed brick, crisp white tablecloths, hardwood floors, wine racks and potted plants. The dozen or so pastas make good use of seafood like calamari and shrimp, as well meatier ingredients like sweet Italian sausage and veal. Entrees come in three variations: seafood, chicken and veal, including dishes like linguine topped with jumbo shrimp in a spicy marinara sauce, chicken breast with mozzarella and basil, and veal scaloppini with artichoke hearts. Choose from more than 100 different wines, including a large selection of Italian and Napa Valley wines, plus a few other European and New World bottles. Separate prix fixe menus are available for large parties.—Keith Wagstaff
