There's no better Trinidadian restaurant in Gotham, and maybe in Trinidad, either. The stuffed flatbreads called rotis are offered with a broad choice of fillings, including goat, chicken, conch, duck, and a potato-chickpea mixture. What's more, you can have further veggies added, such as callaloo and pumpkin, as they do in the islands. The steam table says it all, displaying brilliant red-curried crabs, Indian-leaning veggie fritters, and macaroni pie, along with pastries and snacks galore. And, in contrast to many of the Brooklyn Trinidadians, doubles (two small pooris twisted around a savory filling) are available every day. Gamblers and flyers: Aquaduct and Kennedy are a stone's throw away.
