Proximate to the Coast Guard Sector Headquarters at Fort Wadsworth, this cozy neighborhood pizzeria is frequented by military personnel, who receive a well-deserved discount. The eggplant parm hero is one of the best in town--the thin-sliced vegetable crumbed and fried and piled up on a good, egg-washed hero roll, with plenty of cheese oozing out the sides. Though not quite as good, the meatball hero is also worth trying. Among pizza options, the thick square Sicilian slice rules, and there are also plenty of snacks like garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, and sausage rolls at this way-better-than-average neighborhood pizzeria.
