Description

Andrea is the flagship Italian restaurant in a resort inspired by Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. So you'd better believe they're going to dote on the details. There will be no fewer than three staff members flitting about your table, refilling water glasses and replacing the tableware before every course. It doesn't matter that you've hardly touched more than one fork; the whole set of utensils and plates will be cycled out as part of the routine, all for pomp and pageantry. Though the cuisine too often errs on the side of playing it safe, the perfectly cooked pastas live up to their lengthy menu introductions.

    Say what you want about Donald Bren's Irvine Co., but it sure knows how to train its employees. The service at Andrea in the Pelican Hill Resort borders on obsessive. The minute you step out of your vehicle and hand your keys to the valet, you're treated like you are Bren himself. The valet will retrieve your coat from the back seat, dust it off and put it on you.
