Description

An amalgam of coarsely chopped lamb and beef, the doner cylinder rotates lazily on the counter, a big hunk of lamb fat on top continuously basting the meat. The gyro sold here is one of the best, dampened with chile sauce and herb-dotted yogurt. This narrow cafe steps away from the Sheepshead Bay stop on the D, is decorated with signed photos of famous bodybuilders. It also presents a full Turkish menu, from cigarette-shaped boureks stuffed with feta to kadayif, the sweet pastry that looks like shredded wheat.
