American Apparel's selection is as expansive as its list of locations, but even for a store that is all but ubiquitous, opening a Robertson post was a risk (the rent must be ridiculous). Or was it? With Robertson's more recognizable regulars seen almost daily on the gossip blogs and TV, the area now attracts more tourists than ever, and the Bermuda shorts–clad families hafta leave with something, right? Cheapest thing in the store? A headband for $8. Best deal? Liquidy metallic leggings that look exactly like D&G's designer tights for a fraction of the cost ($40).—Lina Lecaro
