Some folks have been crowing about Ambrosia's pizza for 31 years, as long as the restaurant has been in business - so the huge "Best Pizza!" sign on the door reminds anybody within squinting distance. Not much has changed in all that time, least of all the bizarre and ugly décor. Go for the pizza and skip the mediocre Italian menu - your pizza will come to the table sizzling hot enough to sear the roof of your mouth, a good, old-fashioned American pie reminiscent of early Pizza Hut. With its nicely browned, chewy, doughy crust, soft and custardy in the thickest parts, dried flecks of oregano and canned mushrooms, this pie is neither New York style nor bubbly, blackened Neapolitan. But at $12.95 for a medium, it's a rare bargain and a nostalgic trip back in the time machine.

I've always operated on the assumption that it's easier to dine in the summertime than the winter. After all, high season is over. The tourists are gone, and we locals get to reclaim our restaurants, which means reservations are not a necessity,... More »
A great place to go on an uncrowded afternoon for the pasta and an exceptional marinara sauce. Dress your salad with a very fruity good quality EVO and the Balsamic vinegar is good, but not enough to drive the palate wild. I Never experienced a bad meal and the owner sometimes takes time to come out and chat, but does not talk your ear off while you are trying to enjoy the meal. Prices are very reasonable for what is ordered, and even on a busy day or night there is not an excessive wait time to receive your order. All the staff are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home.
They've won Best Pizza in Palm Beach for something like 30 years in a row. In 2009 they were voted Best Restaurant in Palm Beach County - pretty impressive. The food is phenomenal - I've yet to have anything from the menu that I didn't like, but I would particularly recommend the Pizza and anything Fra Diavlo if you like spicy. I like the Eggplant Pizza, though I ask to add Pepperoni just to spice it up. The stuffed mushrooms are divine! Service is always great - small intimate place where you can actually have a conversation over a nice meal. It's also called 'The Art Gallery Restaurant' because of the art collection, which is pretty impressive. Same owners for over 30 years - same manager (Vinny) for almost 2 decades.. obviously, they're doing something right!
GREAT food! The art work inside has to the atmosphere.
Branon says: "I've been driving up regularly from Hollywood to eat at Ambrosia for several years now. I have yet to meet anything on the menu that I didn't like."Click here to see all of the votes for Best Restaurant in Palm Beach. More »
