We passed Ali Baba-brooding over the L.I.E. on the elevated access road-several times before we stopped, then were rewarded with great kebabs and Persian-leaning stews. Best of all, however, was the baba ghanoush, made from flame-roasted eggplant and enough garlic to leave your mouth burning.
