Aldo el Sharif made a name for himself in the northwestern suburbs in the early 1990s before moving into Houston proper. With Aldo's Cucina Italiana, he's back in the suburbs - this time just north of The Woodlands. In keeping with his Sicilian side, the Egyptian-born el Sharif is still making the handmade pasta that has always been his signature: handkerchiefs of fazzoletti with wild boar, ravioli with oxtail and lasagna filled with delicate layers. Also good at this semi-upscale spot: the vanilla-flecked sweet corn soup and the simple roasted beet salad.
