Description

One of the best Indian restaurants in the Bay Area, Ajanta features a rotating menu of delicious Indian specialties (from all over India, with their provenance explained on the almost scholarly menu and Web site) in a stylish, calm, modern setting, featuring Indian carvings and art inspired by the famed Ajanta cave temple murals. Unusual ingredients (such as rabbit) show up, as well as the expected tandoori dishes and curries. Very reasonably priced for such sophisticated fare in a sophisticated setting.

    Always yummy, wonderful staff, beautiful setting. I feel so healthy after eating at Ajanta. They are popular; so make a reservation.
