Description

This is the only museum in the Southwestern United States devoted to the preservation and display of African American artist, cultural and historical materials. The Sculpture Garden includes the Bottle Tree. American Vision: African American Sculptors covers the 19th century to the 21st century. The museum also features Nommo, George Smith's sculpture based on a Dogon water god.

    For a good price you get to hear some good music, nosh a little along with some wine. Yo also get to check out the Museum Galleries. First Friday of the month 7p -10pm

    Besides the free parking and free admission, the African American Museum in Fair Park contains some really cool stuff about African American history in Dallas that you are unlikely to find elsewhere.
