Shelves are stocked full of edible cupcake decorations, delicious cake filling and frosting, every size cake pan imaginable, and hard-to-find baking staples like Fluid Flex, Sweetex, and high-quality Dutch-processed cocoa powder.

    What a great place - all kinds of groovy baking doodads, and a selection of flavorings unparallelled in the Valley. Just wish they had longer hours!

    We've always loved ABC Baking, but recently we took our favorite 7-year-old there, and experienced the place anew. The kid was awestruck by the rows of old cardboard boxes of treasure in the form of plastic cupcake toppers — bearing everything from the brand-new Kung Fu Panda to old-school bowling pins/balls. We bought a pile of the latter, along with a bag of Yummiland doll rings (if you have to ask, consider yourself lucky), plates, napkins, the makings of icing and a pile of pink bakery boxes (you can never have too many). We can't wait to go back — and neither can the 7-year-old.

    We've been shopping at ABC Baking for years, and have yet to walk in the place and not have our deepest wish fulfilled -- and we have some odd wishes, including a need for pink bakery boxes in assorted sizes, sugar violets, and tiny plastic ballerinas that dance on the tops of cupcakes.     We're not so good at decorating cakes, but we do love the boxes they come in. Not sure why, maybe it's a throwback to too many trips to Karsh's Bakery with Mom, back in the day.
