Description

The eponymous burger requires three napkins, not five, but it's great anyway, laked with so much aioli it looks like melted cheese. The meat is high-quality, but it's difficult to get them to cook it just the way you want it. The kobe beef foot-long hot dog is the real star of the show, moist and salty and festooned with so many ingredients you lose track around "jalapenos." The French fries are way above average, but the sushi (sushi in a hamburger joint?) is premade. Though it scores points for an agreeable creativity, it's still a bit dry when it appears. The sprawling place is an impressive place to bring tourist friends, and we'd definitely consider it for an efficient pre-theater dinner.

    A disclaimer: As the only member of the Voice food department who doesn't eat meat, I don't have much to say about normal burgers. But I do have a lot to say about the veggie burger at 5 Napkin Burger. The patty's ingredients include barley, black beans, brown rice, sesame seeds, jalapeños, carrots, and beets, the latter of which lend it a convincing shade of meaty pink.
