5 & Diamond"s new American fare skews toward bright, light flavors and seasonal produce, with the welcome additions of a drippy burger and a few other lipid-soaked pleasures. We loved raw fish dish made from swatches of yellowtail belly on nubs of tempura-fried watermelon radish, dressed with salty black-bean vinaigrette. Most dishes here are relatively conventional, but tweaked smartly--as in a pork loin dish with pickled blueberries and asparagus puree. If you want over-the-top, order the drippy burger and a side of mind-bendingly rich mac-and-cheese.
