With outdoor seating in Manhattan at a premium, the massive roof deck of 230 Fifth makes for an instant hit. Decorated with palm trees and petunias, it gives space-cramped New Yorkers ample room to bask in the warm breeze of summer or shiver in the winter chill (when the venue kindly provides crimson Snuggies for guests). The downstairs Penthouse may confuse patrons into thinking they entered an '80s movie theater, thanks to the purple and aqua decor, but the place works its retro charm well.

    Love bringing people here from out of town. The views are the best in the city and really love the size and vibe of this place.
    Its a great location right on 5th ave but not easy to find since its in an office building.
    They have an indoor and outdoor space. Def worth checking out and take lots of pictures

    wrote this letter and still no answer from this place
    to whom it may concern,
    Good afternoon my reason for writing this email is to complaint about one of your bouncers he called himself 'the manager' (who didn't want to give us his name). I know bouncers have to be tough I know they deal with a lot of annoying and disrespectful people, but this so call 'the manager' just took this way to far. he took us off the line after waiting 1hr and said that my boyfriend was in this club before and caused trouble. We try to explain that that wasn't true and that it was our first time because it was his birthday and we are from jersey. We don't have time to be clubbing at all until last night because it was a special occasion. We or him have never been there. In any case 'the manager' said that my boyfriend was "a complete fucking asshole last time he was at this club". And that "he was lucky he didn't fucking shove his fucking face to the ground and crack open his head" if you look at the videos from last night you will see this because the cameras were pointed at us the whole time this was between the time of 1:30 to 2am 8/26/12. Also please notice the reaction my boyfriend has to this situation he was calm and respectful but confuse. Then 'the manager' asked my boyfriend for his id and he read that his name was Nestor. Then offered Nestor a deal he said "if I show you the video from last time you were here and it is you you will give me a thousand dollars" Nestor said "ok yes show me the video" because he was sure that it wasn't him.so 'the manager' said "give me your credit card and id first" we said "NO" and he told us to "FUCK OFF" at that point it was just ridiculous. We walked away and then my friend which also happens to be her birthday weekend started to talk to 'the manager' while she was talking to him I took a picture of him. He then ask me to play the last video I recorded i told him to pay me a thousand dollars and I will, since he use that on us first. He looked at my friend and said "your fucking friend here is a little fucking bitch (referring to me)" he said it nice loud and clear and he said it 3 times. i smiled and walked away knowing that hopefully someone in this company will do something about it. hopefully fire him since he was trying to provoke a fight with Nestor. also i would like a copy of the video that supposedly proves that Nestor was there before and caused trouble or i will have to file a report to get that copy.

    Like everyone says, great view of the city. Excellent for a group of people so you can share on bottle service and get a great spot to chill out of the crowd.
