It's hard not to love a sweets shop with a name like 2 Girls and a Cupcake. Especially when you learn the two girls are from Hialeah, and their cupcakes are inspired by booze. Like every other cupcake joint in the 305, 2 Girls has a moist, well balanced signature guava cupcake (it's called Oye Como Va and the cream is reminiscent of actual pastelitos de guayaba), and a red velvet variety topped with cream cheese frosting. But it also features flavors for the lushes such as piña colada, beer pong (beer cupcake topped with vanilla buttercream), Cuba Libre (chocolate coke cupcake topped with whiskey buttercream), and Margaritavilla (a margarita-drunken cupcake topped with sultry Key lime frosting). Until recently, the girls had a downtown shop decked out in girly pastels and a checkered floor that felt like a human-sized version of Candyland.
